$|\alpha xy+yz| \le \frac{\sqrt{5}}{2}$ sulla palla
$|\alpha xy+yz| \le \frac{\sqrt{5}}{2}$ sulla palla
Sapendo che $|\alpha xy+yz| \le \frac{\sqrt{5}}{2}$ per ogni $x,y,z$ reali tali che $x^2+y^2+z^2=1$, trovare il massimo valore di $\alpha$.

Re: $|\alpha xy+yz| \le \frac{\sqrt{5}}{2}$ sulla palla
Sostituisco $\displaystyle y= \sqrt{1-x^2-z^2}$, $x= \rho \sin{\mu}$, $y=\rho \cos{\mu}$ con $\rho \in [0,1]$ ed il LHS della disequazione diventa $\displaystyle |\sqrt{(1-\rho ^2)\rho ^2}(\alpha \sin{\mu} + \cos{\mu})|$, ma per GM-AM vale che $\displaystyle \sqrt{(1-\rho ^2)\rho ^2} \leq \frac{1}{2}$ ed inoltre $\displaystyle \alpha \sin{\mu} + \cos{\mu} =\sqrt{\alpha ^2 +1} \left( \frac{\alpha}{\sqrt{\alpha ^2 +1}} \sin{\mu} + \frac{1}{\sqrt{\alpha ^2 +1}}\cos{\mu}\right) =\sqrt{\alpha ^2 +1} \sin{\left( \mu + \arccos{\left(\frac{\alpha}{\sqrt{\alpha ^2 +1}} \right) } \right) } \leq \sqrt{ \alpha ^2 +1} $ per cui $\displaystyle |\sqrt{(1-\rho ^2)\rho ^2}(\alpha \sin{\mu} + \cos{\mu})| \leq \frac{\sqrt{ \alpha ^2 +1}}{2} = \frac{\sqrt{5}}{2}$ per $\alpha =2$
